In this room, a diverse array of wind instruments is on display. Several of these wind instruments evolved into their present forms during the 19th century, while others remained in the experimental stage or were replaced by new innovations. The ophicleide (pictured on the left in the image below), tenor horn, and cornophone are types of instruments that are no longer widely used. A grand piano with built-in percussion instruments and representatives of early upright keyboard instruments serve as examples of the experimental spirit of the 19th century.
